Review shared from Power Steering Conversion Box (63-82 Corvette C2 & C3)
Should Have Installed This Years Ago.
My Corvette originally had the piston style power steering which was terrible, especially on the highway. So I converted to manual quick ratio steering and got an upper body workout for 40+ years. Now I wanted an easier drive and was considering the Steeroids system, but my local Corvette restorer recommended the Bergson conversion instead. What a great improvement! Installation was fairly straight forward with only three caveats; 1) I had to rearrange the front brakeline to clear the front end of the steering box. I did this by rotating the brakeline T block 180 degrees and securing it to a pre-existing hole and reshaping/routing the master cylinder line to make a U-turn to attach to the block. The front caliper lines easily connected to the block. 2) Shortening the steering column shaft lost the adjustment feature of the coupling. I also had to pull the steering column about 2 inches into the passenger compartment. With the original steering wheel things are close. I am looking for a shallower dish replacement steering wheel that I like. 3) The hose connections were extremely difficult to seal to the steering box. I finally put teflon tape on the hose threads and was then able to tighten the fittings until they no longer leaked. Driving my Corvette with the Borgeson unit is a delight. It is a good road feel and parking is so much easier.

Review shared from Borgeson Power Steering Pump with Keyway Shaft; Chrome (61-74 Corvette C1, C2 & C3)
Power steering pump
The chrome borgeson power steering pump works way better than the stock one, seems a lot easier to turn the steering wheel. The chrome finish make it shine and is very noticeable now, before you couldn’t tell that the pump was down there. Easy installation, very happy with this purchase.
