Starter, V8 with Automatic or 5-Speed Transmission is designed to provide reliable starting power with heavy-duty gear reduction delivering 160 lb/ft of torque. Ideal for engines with moderate compression, it ensures efficient starting even in demanding situations. This starter fits applications requiring a 157 or 164 tooth ring gear for automatics or a 157 tooth for manual transmissions.

      Construction and Appearance. Built with a billet aluminum mounting block and permanent magnet for high efficiency, this lightweight starter features a natural finish. It is engineered for durability and multiple mounting orientations with the infini-clock mounting system to suit various engine setups.

      Installation. Installation is straightforward with included mounting bolts and no drilling required, provided the depth from the mounting surface to the ring gear is properly measured beforehand. The starter replaces OEM units with a nose extending 2-3/8 inches.

      Application. Specifically fits 302 engine applications with automatic or 5-speed manual transmissions using compatible ring gear tooth counts. Measuring the starter mounting surface to ring gear depth is highly recommended to ensure proper fitment.
