        In the electrical department there are a myriad of electrical components which must work together for any car to run. Two of the most important parts are the positive and negative battery cables. Through the decades, automotive manufacturers have tried various methods to attach cables to the battery. In the 1960's General Motors designed a new terminal called a "spring ring" to grip the battery post by spring tension rather than using a conventional bolt and nut to tighten the lead connector. Restoring your Corvette to original condition after all these years almost certainly will involve replacing the spring ring battery cables.
