The Competition Shorty 1-5/8-Inch Headers with Ceramic Coating are engineered to enhance exhaust flow and reduce back pressure in high-performance and racing applications. These headers improve engine efficiency by optimizing exhaust pulse scavenging, making them ideal for builds focused on maximizing power output.

Construction and Appearance. Constructed from durable 16 gauge mild steel, these headers feature mandrel-bent tubing for smooth exhaust flow and long transition collectors to further reduce back pressure. The ceramic coating enhances heat resistance and corrosion protection while providing a clean silver appearance.

Installation. Installation is straightforward with all necessary hardware included and no drilling required. Proper fitment on air-conditioned vehicles requires the use of left and right side air conditioning bracket kits. Care must be taken to avoid damaging the ceramic coating during engine break-in as it requires several heat cycles to cure.

Application. These headers fit 1967-1974 Small Block V8 Camaros, Novas, Chevelles, El Caminos, Monte Carlos, and full-size Chevrolet/GMC vehicles. They do not fit engines with angle plug or raised port heads and are incompatible with close ratio steering boxes. Installation requires specific air conditioning brackets on A/C equipped models.
