High-Performance Headers. The Hooker Competition Shorty Headers - Painted are designed to improve exhaust flow and engine performance. These headers are used in high-performance street and racing applications to reduce back pressure and maximize power output, ensuring your engine breathes better and runs more efficiently.

Construction and Appearance. Constructed from durable 16-gauge mild steel tubing, these headers feature mandrel-bent tubing for consistent diameter and strength. The headers come with 5/16-inch machined flanges for a perfect seal and are finished with a heat-cured black paint designed to withstand high temperatures while enhancing the overall look of the engine bay.

Installation. Installation is straightforward and designed to be trouble-free with all necessary hardware included. No drilling is required; however, replacement of air conditioning brackets may be necessary for proper fitment.

Application. Specifically designed to fit 1967-1974 Small Block V8 GM A-Body, X-Body, and Full-Size vehicles including Camaro, Nova, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, El Camino, Sprint, and Caballero. These headers do not fit angle plug heads, raised port heads, or vehicles equipped with close ratio steering boxes.
