Heat and Noise Barrier. The Thermo Tec Cool-It Mat, measuring 24 inches by 50 feet, is engineered to reduce heat and noise intrusion in vehicle interiors. It is ideal for installation on firewalls, doors, floorboards, hoods, and other compartments prone to excessive heat transfer and noise penetration. This mat enhances comfort and the driving experience by minimizing unwanted heat and sound.
_x000D__x000D_Construction and Appearance. The mat consists of resin-bonded silica blanketing insulation sandwiched between two highly reflective facings—one side uses Foil Skim Kraft (FSK) while the other is a foil surface. The silica insulation is a dual-density composite offering excellent sound absorption. The reflective surfaces serve as vapor and radiant barriers, providing both heat reflection and conduction capabilities, with a thickness of approximately half an inch.
_x000D__x000D_Installation. Installation is straightforward and requires minimal effort. It can be trimmed to fit specific areas and attached using push-in fasteners or weather strip adhesive without the need for drilling or complex tools.
