Description
Transistorized Ignitions (TI) also known as Delcotron Transistor Control Magnetic Pulse Ignition Systems were available for the Camaro from the Heavy Duty (read RACE) Parts catalog over the counter at your local GM dealership. These special transistor controlled ignition systems were developed for high performance and racing use to replace the traditional point-fired ignition system that came standard on most vehicles which were later replaced with the first HEI optional distributors in 1970. These transistorized ignitions were still used as the standard in heavy duty, high performance Chevrolet ignition systems until its demise from racing in the early 1980’s.
