Shifter Conversion Kit. The Shifter Conversion Kit for TH200/700/4L60, designed for 1973-1978 Camaro models, adapts factory automatic floor shifters for compatibility with modern 4-speed overdrive automatic transmissions. This kit simplifies transmission upgrades by allowing the original shifter to function as if factory-equipped for newer transmission types, eliminating guesswork and mechanical incompatibility during transmission swaps.

Materials And Design. The kit includes a transmission cable bracket, transmission shift lever, shifter detent (except for 6L80E and 6L90E kits), dash and console gear indicator adapters (also except for 6L80E and 6L90E kits), and a hardware kit. All components are engineered for durability and precise fitment, manufactured with high-quality materials to ensure long-lasting performance and an accurate shifting feel while maintaining the factory appearance of the vehicle’s interior.

Installation. Installation is moderately challenging and generally does not require drilling or permanent modifications. The kit installs using existing shifter mounting points and hardware for a secure fit. Note that steering lock or column-linked neutral safety switches are not supported without relocation modifications; neutral safety and backup light switches can be relocated using an additional kit.

Application. This conversion kit is exclusively designed for 1973 to 1978 Camaro models and is compatible with TH200-4R, TH700-R4, 4L60E, 4L70E, 4L80/4L80E, 6L80E, and 6L90E transmissions. The kit does not support the Rally shifting option and fits only the specified generation and transmission models.
