Have you ever fumbled for the ignition switch or radio knobs at night after shutting your car doors, only to be left in the dark because the dome light turned off? The Courtesy Light Delay Module (PIN 22-202) solves this problem by keeping your interior lights illuminated for a customizable period after the doors close—just like a modern luxury car.
The delay module allows you to adjust the illumination time from 17 seconds up to 80 seconds. It can be used with standard dome lights, dash courtesy lights, or both.

Installation Steps
Step 1: Dash Courtesy Light Kit (Optional)
-
For Vehicles Without Dome Lights:
- Some models, like sedan deliveries and convertibles, don’t have dome lights. In these cases, dash courtesy lights are a great alternative.
- The dash courtesy light kit includes two light sockets and wiring that connects to the dash harness and door jamb switches.
-
Wiring:
- Orange Wire: Connects to the orange wire in the dash harness.
- White Wires: Connect to the left and right door jamb switches.
-
Mounting the Light Sockets:
- Each socket comes with a steel bracket that mounts into factory holes at the lower corners of the dash.
Step 2: Installing the Courtesy Light Delay Module
-
Wiring the Module:
- The module has three wires, each marked for its connection:
- White Wire ("CTSY GROUND"): Connect to the white wire in the dash harness.
- Black Wire ("GROUND"): Connect to a good body ground.
- Red Wire ("12V-IGNITION"): Connect to an ignition-on 12-volt source. This ensures the lights turn off when the key is switched to the "ON" position.
-
Adjusting the Delay Timer:
- Open the timer’s end cap to access the set screw.
- Use a small flat blade screwdriver to adjust the delay time:
- Turn left for less illumination time (minimum 17 seconds).
- Turn right for a longer time (maximum 80 seconds).
-
Mounting the Module:
- Use the included Velcro strip to mount the timer securely and out of sight under the dash.
