Rear Shock Mount Relocation. The Detroit Speed Rear Upper Shock Crossmember is engineered to relocate the upper shock mounts inside the frame rails, providing essential clearance when installing wider rear wheel tubs. This modification allows for increased shock travel when lowering the ride height below stock levels and enhances rear suspension performance.
Durable Steel Construction. Crafted from 1/8 inch thick steel using a C-section design, this crossmember greatly improves the structural integrity of the rear subframe. Its sturdy construction offers a reliable mounting point for inboard upper shock mounts, ensuring long-term durability under demanding driving conditions.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill. The crossmember mounts between the rear wheel tubs and through the trunk floorpan for added stability. Some drilling may be necessary to properly fit the crossmember and shock mounts during installation.
Application. Specifically designed for 1967-1969 Firebird models, this crossmember supports the unique rear shock mounting configurations of this generation, including the non-staggered setup on the 1967 F-Body, ensuring proper fitment and function.
