These bumpers sit on top of the hood adjustment bolts and barely touch the bottom of your hood to keep it in place. As your Bel Air, Biscayne, Caprice or Impala rolls down the road, the hood is constantly moving side to side and front to back on the hood hinges. The rubber hood bumpers keep the hood from moving around too much and scratching your paint and it keeps the hood from going down too far when it is shut. This pair of bumper grommets are the correct diameter and height.
