This Chevy Desert Cooler Optima copper core V8 radiator is the best cooling down-flow copper core radiator you can buy. It is constructed with 4 rows of ½" vertical down-flow cooling tubes on 5/16" centers with a 2-5/8" thick core. The 5/16" tube spacing actually gives enough additional tubes to equate the radiator to a 6-row radiator! The brass top and bottom tanks are ribbed with the inlet and outlets in the stock location. This V8 position radiator is flanged to mount behind the core support bar. This configuration requires use of a short water pump small block so the fan will clear the radiator core.
