A classic symptom of a bad wheel bearing in your classic 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954 Chevrolet is noise. If a wheel is making "funny" noises when driving (squeaks, chirps, squeals, moans, etc.), or you hear a grinding noise when turning, it may indicate a bad wheel bearing. Other symptoms include steering wander or possibly a pull to one side when braking. To determine how bad the bearings actually are you should roll down your windows and drive very slow, all the while listening.
