      High-Torque Starter. The Powermaster XS Torque Chrome 200 Ft. Lb. Starter, V8 with 5-Speed Transmission delivers exceptional cranking power for engines with compression ratios up to 18.0:1. Designed to provide reliable starting performance, it is ideal for demanding applications requiring a heavy-duty starter capable of overcoming high engine compression.

      Construction and Appearance. This starter features a billet aluminum mounting block with a chrome plated finish that provides durability and corrosion resistance. It includes an encapsulated solenoid to prevent heat soak and hot start problems while offering a visually appealing polished look to complement engine bays.

      Installation. Installation is straightforward and designed to bolt directly into place without drilling. Due to the adjustable Infi-Clock mounting, it allows precise clearance for most headers and oil pans, facilitating a clean fitment.

      Application. Intended to fit Ford 289 engines with either automatic transmissions using 157 or 164 tooth ring gears or manual transmissions using a 157 tooth ring gear, replacing OEM starters with extended noses past the mounting surface. Measurement of mounting surface to ring gear depth is recommended before purchase.
