Reproduction hood latch safety catch for 1981-86 C/K, and 1987-91 R/V Chevrolet and GMC truck and SUV models. This catch keeps the hood from flying up if the latch is in the released position. It is the safety mechanism that must be pressed to raise the hood. Operating your vehicle with a faulty or missing safety catch is dangerous due to the possibility of the wind lifting the hood at high speeds.
