      Your 1958, 1959 or 1960 Chevy or GMC truck idler arm is especially vulnerable to wear. The idler arm assembly is your Chevy or GMC truck’s pivoting support. The idler arm pivots on a bracket that is attached to the frame on one end and supports the ball joint on the other.
