      Description

Manual Swap Clearance. The Transmission Tunnel Repair Panel is designed to repair and rework the tunnel area while allowing installation of a manual Tremec transmission in a cleaner, more controlled way. Built as an OE compatible and comparable direct replacement and part of Eckler’s Select Series, it helps you avoid improvised patch panels and uneven cuts when converting or repairing the tunnel. Intended for 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air models, 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet 150 models, 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet 210 models, and 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet Nomad models, this panel includes a 4-inch cutout for the shifter and supports a more finished, serviceable transmission tunnel layout.

Construction and Appearance. Built from weld or pop-rivet 16-gauge steel, this panel is engineered to provide solid structure and consistent thickness for long-term durability in a high-stress, high-vibration area. Sized 22 L x 11-1/2 W, it offers ample coverage for common tunnel repair zones while keeping the footprint manageable for careful placement. The raw metal finish provides a restoration-ready surface that’s well suited for standard metal-prep steps, making it easier to seam seal, prime, and coat for corrosion resistance and a clean finished look.

Installation. Designed as a direct replacement, this panel supports a straightforward and versatile installation approach depending on your build plan, using welding or pop-riveting as the attachment method. The adaptable design makes it easier to test-fit, align edges, and confirm the shifter cutout location before permanently securing it in place. Taking time to mark, trim carefully where needed, and finish seams with sealant and protective coatings helps ensure a rigid, rattle-free result on your vehicle.

Application. This Transmission Tunnel Repair Panel fits 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air models, 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet 150 models, 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet 210 models, and 1955 - 1957 Chevrolet Nomad models. It helps restore tunnel integrity while supporting a manual transmission conversion with a cleaner shifter opening and a more professional, finished installation.
