      Description

Performance Exhaust Component. The Hedman Small Block Headers for 1955-1957 Chevy Tri-5 vehicles are engineered to maximize exhaust flow and improve engine performance. Designed for small block engines ranging from 283 to 400 cubic inches, these headers efficiently channel exhaust gases from the engine to the exhaust system, reducing backpressure and increasing horsepower.

Construction and Appearance. Manufactured from mild steel with 16-gauge thickness, these headers feature a 1-5/8 inch diameter tube and a full-length long tube design. They arrive uncoated but are shipped with temporary protective paint. The flange has a thickness of 0.3125 inch, while the collectors utilize a 3-inch ball and socket style attachment that is gasketless, providing a secure and durable seal.

Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill and includes all necessary components such as gaskets, bolts, reducers, and mounting hardware for a straightforward, no-drill setup on compatible vehicles.

Application. These headers fit 1955-1957 Chevy Bel Air, 150, 210, and Nomad models equipped with 283 to 400 cubic inch small block engines. They are compatible with vehicles featuring power steering and air conditioning, and are designed for manual and automatic floor-shift transmissions only.
