      Description

      Durable Air Cleaner Base. The Scott Drake Mustang Shaker Air Cleaner Base, 390/428 V8, 1969-70 replaces the original fiberglass base with a sturdy metal alternative. It connects the air filter housing to ensure proper airflow to the carburetor while enhancing engine bay appearance by removing smog equipment openings for a cleaner look.

      Construction and Appearance. Made from stamped steel, this air cleaner base features an authentic Ford blue painted finish that resists corrosion and complements the engine bay. Its round shape and solid metal construction provide durability and a period-correct, visually appealing upgrade over fiberglass.

      Installation. Installation is straightforward with no drilling required, allowing for a direct replacement onto compatible Big Block intakes. Some minor fitment variations may occur with certain aftermarket intakes due to carburetor positioning.

      Application. Specifically engineered for 1969-1970 Ford Mustang 390 and 428 V8 engines. It will not fit small block engines or intakes that position the carburetor differently than factory locations.
