Features, Description, Q&A
A classic symptom of a bad wheel bearing in your 1962-1963 Chevy II Nova is noise. If a wheel is making "funny" noises when driving (squeaks, chirps, squeals, moans, etc.), or you hear a grinding noise when turning, it may indicate a bad wheel bearing. Other symptoms include steering wander or possibly a pull to one side when braking. To determine how bad the bearings actually are you should roll down your windows and drive very slow, all the while listening. Perform a few tests like this, and drive at a normal speed to see if the noise is still present. You can even have a buddy help you by standing outside as you drive and listening as well. If you determine your wheel bearings are bad, you need to replace them.
