Fits 4th Gen Malibu Models, & Other 1978-1988 G-Body ApplicationsThe hood safety latch on your 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, or 1983 Fourth Generation Malibu is what bolts to the bottom of the hood and keeps it closed. If this were to rust or come undone, it is possible that your Malibu's hood could get loose and open while driving, while also creating an annoying rattling sound. This is a safety hazard, as well as chance of looking silly on the road. Eckler's Chevelle & Malibu offers a nice steel reproduction of the upper hood safety latch which bolts to the bottom of the Camaro hood. This hood latch will look great under your Chevy Malibu's hood, as well as keep your ride quiet and comfortable. From
