Long Tube Performance Headers. The Flowmaster Chevelle Long Tube Scavenger Series Headers for V8 engines from 1968-1974 replace factory cast iron manifolds with high-performance long tube headers, improving exhaust flow for enhanced throttle response, power, and engine efficiency in high-output Big Block engines. These headers are designed for enthusiasts seeking maximum performance on their 68-74 El Camino and 71-74 Sprint models.
Durable Stainless Steel Construction with Ceramic Finish. Made from 409S stainless steel using 16 gauge tubing, the headers have a silver high-temperature ceramic coating that offers excellent corrosion resistance and heat dissipation. The 3/8 inch thick flanges and 3-1/2 inch ball flange collectors ensure a durable, leak-resistant assembly with a polished high gloss appearance.
Straightforward Installation. Installation includes all necessary gaskets and hardware. While no drilling is required, installation may require modifications such as the removal or alteration of locking steering columns. Use of Big Block frame stands and motor mounts is necessary for proper engine positioning and header fitment. These headers are not compatible with Powerglide transmissions or Saginaw close ratio steering boxes.
