    What is Mass Backing? Ecklers and the El Camino Store are proud to carry the highest quality carpet on the market today. Our Carpet with Mass Backing meets or exceeds OEM specifications. Mass Backing is a special latex polymer is thermo-bonded to the back of the carpet to substantially increase the insulating, anti-wear and sound deadening properties of the raw carpet set. This helps prevent the carpet from wearing out prematurely because automotive carpet wears over time just like the carpet in your home.
