Description
The EGR valve is a critical emission component that helps your engine efficiently and completely burn fuel by recalculating a portion of your exhaust and running it through the combustion process again. This process of recycling exhaust gases results in a cooler, more complete burn of the fuel which decreases you car's noxious emissions. If your El Camino???s EGR valve is stuck open, it will cause a vacuum leak which leads to inefficient combustion, rough idling, hesitation, and stalling. Failure to replace a faulty EGR valve in your El Camino will reduce its engine life and increase the potential emissions. Properly operating EGR valves are required in states with emissions regulations.
