      Believe it or not, the fan shroud on your 1965 or 1966 Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne or Caprice is an absolute necessity for your cooling system to work properly. We've all seen that guy at the car show with his Impala sporting a new radiator and the naked fan without the fan shroud. The Experts at Eckler's Late Great Chevy are here to tell you that type of setup is very bad to try and cool your small block Chevy. Without the fan shroud, the fan cannot pull air through the radiator when your Impala, Bel Air Or Biscayne is sitting still. The fan basically swats the air and builds turbulence in the engine compartment meanwhile the coolant can't transfer heat through the radiator.
