Description
This simple gas tank sending unit seal is the source of many gas tank leaks. The original dries out and cracks or shrinks, giving a poor seal at the tank and a leak results. Very often, El Camino owners misdiagnose this leak as a leaky tank. Fuel may leak out around the sending unit and run down and around the tank, making you think the leak is on the tank somewhere. Not only are these gas tank leaks on your classic bothersome, they can be quite dangerous. Installation is easy. Remove the sending unit and remove the old seal. Install the seal so that the screw holes are oriented correctly. Tighten the sending unit screws evenly.
