Eckler's Firebird brings you this quality replacement pair of leaf springs to fix the sagging rear of your Firebird. Many Firebirds out on the road today have their rear sitting down like they are carrying around a load of bricks in the trunk. Depending on the level of RPO options( Air Conditioning, Big Block Engine Rally Sport Front Headlights, etc.), Firebirds are supposed to sit level with the front end. Get your Firebird sitting right with a pair of quality replacement leaf springs from Eckler's Firebird.
WARNING: All bolts at the spring mounting points should be left finger tight until all the weight of the car is put on the springs (i.e. rear end supported by jack stands). Then, proper torque should be applied to all points (torque specs available in the factory assembly manual). Failure to follow this procedure could result in one side of the car sitting lower than the other. Also, installing springs in a car under restoration can result in the body sitting 4-6" off of the rear tires. This should settle when items such as the interior and fuel tank are installed. If you are still having installation issues after double checking your installation, please call Technical Services for additional support.
NOTE: Springs are coated with an industrial black paint or Cosmoline®. The springs must be stripped and painted for a "show quality" look. All 1967 Firebirds came with mono-leaf springs from the factory. To use these springs on a 1967 Firebird, you must use your original shock plates for non-staggered shocks and use the mono to multi-leaf spring conversion (our Part # DS-64).
